Hi I’m Michael Long, the principle photographer and director of Longshot Photo.
Together with my wife, Melita Long, I will take unique photos that show you off at your best.
Our approach is to help you relax, feel comfortable, laugh, and have fun throughout the photo shoot. It's when we do this that we find we capture you at your best.
We use the latest, top quality professional Canon camera gear. This includes the 5D Mark II as well as portable flash equipment to give you the most flattering photos.

A specialist in action photography – sports and dance
With both a passion for, and high level of skill in, sports and dance I am able to accurately capture the movement and emotion of action shots.
It's because of my love for these activities that I have such a valuable point of difference when taking dance and sports photography.
The success of my skills in this area has in part been a product of my previous career as a professional ballet dancer. After 18 years of hard training, I joined the Royal New Zealand Ballet where I perfected my artistic flair and performance for 3 years.
